Caryn Fields, CFP®

Caryn is an advisor at Synergy Capital Solutions where she collaborates with clients to build a plan to take them from where they are today, to where they want to be tomorrow. Previously, she worked at Fidelity Investments as a Financial Consultant, J.P. Morgan Securities as a Financial Advisor and started in the industry in 2013 with the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Financial Advisor Associate program.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies along with Comparative Religions from Colgate University. Caryn is a CFP ® and holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses along with Life, Health and Annuities Insurance Licenses. Most recently she attained the Affirming Advisor ™ designation, issued by the Financial Psychology Institute®. The program focuses on creating safe spaces, understanding specific financial challenges, and fostering inclusive practices.

Caryn did not take your typical advisor track but started her career abroad in community sustainability as a Fulbright Scholar in Thailand after living in Sierra Leone and other parts of Africa. When she moved back to the United States, she joined AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps and worked as a housing case manager. After serving in the corps, she transitioned to fundraising and development at the Jewish United Fund / Jewish Federation of Chicago. When she made the switch to financial services, she continued with her Jewish communal service journey by joining the Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) board where she served in various leadership positions including president. Caryn brings a depth of knowledge in charitable giving, helping ensure clients understand how to give and make the most impact.

Caryn lives in the South Loop of Chicago with her rescue dog, Duke. When not “in the office” she loves to travel, explore various cultures, read, snowboard, golf, run and spend time with her friends and family, preferably outside. Caryn loves to give back to her community and is currently looking for her next philanthropic role.
